There's something I don't understand:
The need for people to be catty and disgruntled, to hint at things rather than simply say them, or to be cowardly about their feelings.

If you have a problem with something, and you honestly expect it to get resolved in any way, shape or form, then you need to speak up. Most people don't read minds, and even the one's who do, often are thinking about things more directly related to themselves than someone else's feelings. This is a general truth.

Summarized simply by the fact that most people are selfish and/or self-involved.

Selfish implying that they care about themselves most principally as opposed to the well-being of others. Self-involved being more along the lines of being too in their own heads and thus not noticing what's going on with other people or in the world around, without any sort of mal intent.

Most people fall into one of these two categories, or some combination of the two.

It's entertaining really, because the fact that people are so self-involved is proven time and again by their assumptions that people should be aware and care about what's going on in their lives. Most people aren't and most people don't. Not for me, not for you, not for their neighbors, or their great aunts.

When I'm studying for Biopsychology, or any of the other courses I'm taking this semester, I can honestly say, "I wonder if (Insert Name Here) is doing okay", doesn't really pop into my mind. It's more along the lines of, "Shit... This reading is taking foreverrrrr" or, "I wonder what I'm gonna do when I'm actually freeeee?!"

People usually only think about others if and when they're around, or directly in that person's line of activity, or if they're being missed.

I mean, think about it. How often do you, (My millions of readers ) wonder, "Hm? I wonder what's going on with StandingRoomOnly today? I wonder how he's doing in life, if Biopsych is still making him it's bitch?" Probably not very often, unless you're secretly stalking me, which is totally cool (just don't steal my underwear, I need those :/ ).

Anyway, the point is, if you want something, you're gonna have to speak up, and don't expect me to know anything or do anything that I would have no way of knowing. A lot of my thoughts go towards ridiculous things like art concepts, and if I locked the door to my house and unplugged the toaster, or what would happen if I looked in the rear view mirror and see a zombie was standing by the side of the road, not the problems that plague everyone else throughout the course of any given day.

Therefore, you shouldn't expect to be at the forefront of anyone/everyone's mind at all times, because I can guarantee no one is always at the forefront of yours.

Don't have unrealistic expectations for the rest of the world, if you yourself can't live up to them, neither can anyone else.
